Rose Ann Whiskers is from a small San Juan Paiute village near Tuba City, AZ. Born in 1952, she has been weaving baskets since the 1960’s. She learned from her grandmother, Mary Lehi, to make coiled and miniature baskets from sumac colored with aniline dyes. She is best known for her Diné style pictorial (especially butterflies) and wedding basket designs.
