Blue Bird Flour Sack Apron by Rena Charles
Each apron is designed and sewn by Diné/Navajo artist, Rena Charles. Every apron features an original Blue Bird flour sack on the front. Blue Bird flour, produced in Cortez, CO, is used widely on the Colorado Plateau. Due to its high gluten content, the flour is a preferred staple for making tortillas, frybread, and baked goods.
About the Artist: Rena Charles is a Diné/Navajo artist from Cameron, AZ. She is well-known for her beaded necklaces and jewelry, but she is also a talented seamstress.
