Artist: Patrick Smith is a Dine silversmith from Flagstaff, AZ, who studied at Northern Arizona University and the Southwest Association for Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM. Smith uses hollow form, reticulation and mokume techniques to create textured or sculptured jewelry that sometimes includes inlaid stones. Reticulation produces a ridged surface through controlled heating a sheet of gold or silver alloy. Mokume produces a mixed metal layered pattern.
