About the Artist: Ray Growler (b. 1965) is a sheet metal worker and mixed media artist from Sweetwater, NM. He uses dried aspen wood and cured animal skins to create folk art animals, notably sheep and goats. Although not raised traditionally, Growler has learned Navajo cultural an spiritual ways from his Uncle, a medicine man.
