About the Artist: Wally Grover is a carver from the Kachina/Parrot clan and from the Tewa Village on Hopi's First Mesa at Polacca, AZ. Grover was 18 when his brother-in-law, Marion Huma, taught him to carve cottonwood root. Grover's tools include a pocketknife, coping saw, and a wood burner. He uses acrylic paints to color the doll details and images on his carvings.
