Philbert Begay (b.1969) learned traditional Diné silversmithing by polishing and finishing pieces for his father, Richard S. Begay. He was also influenced by Uncles Victor Beck and Patrick Taylor. Begay attended the Colorado Institute of Art, becoming an expert at overlay, appliqué, stamp work and stone inlay. His silver jewelry features intricate designs from nature with small stone accents. Begay now lives with his family in Flagstaff, AZ.
