About the Artist: Lena Boone is part of an extended family of Zuni fetish carvers. Lena and her sister, Dinah Gaspar, learned carving from her mother, Edna Leki, and grandfather, Teddy Weahkee. Their carvings are old-style with minimal detail yet easily recognizable features. Lena carves traditional stones and colored glass. She also makes fetish necklaces. Son Leland Boone carves directional set Zuni fetishes.
