About the Artist: Melanie Kirk-Lente (Isleta Pueblo) and Michael Lente (Isleta/Diné) were taught jewelry-making by her father, Andy Lee Kirk, and completed the Graduate Jeweler Program at the Gemological Institute of America. The Lentes work in gold and silver using lost-wax casting and fine-line etching techniques to accent inlaid gems and stones. her jewelry combines contemporary forms and noon-traditional stones with Isleta Pueblo traditions.
